The UNTOLD festival, created by Bogdan Buta, has reached, in 2020, its sixth edition, and was ranked the eight best festival in the world, in a ranking made by the first 100 best DJ in the world. The Romanian festival managed to top festivals like Coachella, Burning Man or Sziget. DJ MAG is the international magazine that published this leaderboard.
At its fifht edition last year, the line-up had some of the best artists like – Robbie Williams, Armin van Buuren, Martin Garrix, David Guetta, Dimitri Vegas&Like Mike, Steve Aoki, 3 Are Legend, Tinie Tempah, Busta Rhymes, Tove Lo and Manny others.
Over 370,000 people went to UNTOLD last year, and around 20 percent were foreigners. Every year, the number of people who attended the festival rose by 15 percent.For this year’s edition, the first 32.000 subscriptions have been sold in four minutes, before any artist was announced.
According to Bogdan Buta, the founder of UNTOLD, in 2019, the investment in organizing the festival reached EUR 16 million. The budget was higher by EUR 2 million compared to 2018. Revenues come from the partners (40 percent), from tickets and subscription sales (40 percent), and from partners that sell products during the festival (20 percent).
The UNTOLD team has developed many CSR campaigns like Blood Network, Romania all Inclusive, Bac de 10. Also, UNTOLD is one of the main spornors of the FC Universitatea Cluj football team. In 2019, UNTOLD has built two sterile rooms for the children trying to beat cancer in the Children’s Hostpital in Cluj. Also, the festival donated air conditioners for the hospital in the summer of 2019.
